Invisalign Teeth Straightening

Invisalign Teeth Straightening – Invisalign Coquitlam

Invisalign is a teeth straightening method that uses a series of custom-made transparent plastic retainers that can help you achieve your dream smile without any of the drawbacks of metal braces.

Your dentist will create your retainers using 3-D computer imaging technology so they are perfectly adapted to your teeth and gradually shift them into the position prescribed.

The retainers are made of smooth, comfortable plastic and are virtually invisible. All you have to do is wear your retainer every day except when eating or cleaning your teeth and change to the new retainer every two weeks. The results will be noticeable but the process is very discreet.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. The aligners are custom-made for your teeth using 3D imaging technology, which creates a 3D model of your teeth and maps out the movement needed to achieve the desired result. You wear each set of aligners for 10 days to 2 weeks, and then switch to a new set that will continue the movement of your teeth. Some people need temporary white “buttons” glued on certain teeth to help the Invisalign aligners more troublesome teeth effectively. Some cases require one or two elastics, but not all cases. Throughout the process, you’ll visit your dentist every six to eight weeks to check progress and ensure everything is going according to plan.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost in Canada

The cost of Invisalign in the lower mainland of BC depends on a variety of factors, including the complexity of your case and length of treatment. On average, Invisalign treatment in Canada costs between $5,500 and $8,000. Many dental insurance plans cover a portion of the cost, which can help bring down your out-of-pocket expenses. Some plans cover up to 50%, some with limits. You can also explore financing options to make the cost more manageable.

One interesting thing about Invisalign is it’s a fixed price – so there’s no extra charges if your treatment weeks and aligner counts go longer than our first estimate. This makes the experience more manageable and ensures you focus on your best smile vs. costs of appointments. Retainers are extra, once the Invisalign process is finished.

The Steps in the Invisalign Process

The Invisalign process involves several steps. First, you’ll have an initial consultation with your us to determine if Invisalign is the right option for you. If it is, your dentist will create a 3D model to create your treatment plan. You’ll get the chance to see a video that shows how your teeth will move and your smile will change. Once you and your plan (if you have one) agree to the treatment, this 3D scan will be used to design your custom aligners. You’ll receive a series of aligners to wear for about two weeks each, and you’ll visit your dentist regularly for check-ins to ensure your treatment is progressing smoothly.

Typically, Invisalign treatment takes 10 to 18 months, but this can vary depending on your individual case.

Benefits of Invisalign over Braces

Invisalign has several advantages over traditional metal braces. Perhaps the most significant benefit is that Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible when worn, so you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. Additionally, Invisalign aligners are removable, which means you can continue eating your favorite foods and brush and floss your teeth as you normally would. With braces, there are certain foods you’ll need to avoid, and it can be challenging to clean around the brackets and wires. Finally, Invisalign treatment generally requires fewer office visits than traditional braces, making it a more convenient option for busy adults.

When Invisalign Was Created and What Has Changed Since It Started

Invisalign was created in 1997 by Zia Chishti and Kelsey Wirth, who were both students at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business at the time. Invisalign has come a long way since its inception. Initially, Invisalign was only suitable for correcting very mild cases of misalignment. However, the technology has improved significantly over the years, and now Invisalign can be used to treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, from mild to severe. Additionally, the aligners themselves have become more comfortable and easier to wear, and treatment times have decreased thanks to advances in 3D imaging technology.

Many adults and teenager can enjoy the benefits of orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, an alternative to metal braces. Contact us for a consultation and to see if Invisalign is the right solution for you. Invisalign Coquitlam
