The VELscope is a handheld tool using blue-spectrum light that causes the soft tissue of the mouth to naturally fluoresce. Under this light a wide variety or oral abnormalities can be detected thanks to the distinctive colour patterns of healthy and diseased tissues.

The examination is safe, painless and non-invasive. There is no need for unpleasant rinses or stains and the screening process only takes a few minutes. The screening is a safe precaution for early detection of any lesion.
